A work table that completely dismantles itself in the environment through embodying all the 5 elements. This helps sensitize the nature of work decision’s one makes and impact it has on the environment and other beings.
Multisensory experience of the environment fosters awareness of embodied matter and presence. The table disperses each organ to bring more awareness to our actions / inactions. This framework helps extend oneself into an expanded field of environmental embodiment, giving mobility to the act of thinking and working, it invites a mindful approach to creativity and productivity.
The formal inspiration has been a bee orchid that camouflages and deceives the male bee into copulating with it to disperse its seeds. This draws attention to the camouflaging strategies we employ in work environments to deflect our impact. This conceptual framework also translates into the materiality and finish of the table, resembling an animal hide.
